IMG_0519[1]Constance Ann Fleaka passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 20, 2016.  Connie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 6, 1952 to Mary and George Fleaka who preceded her in death.

Connie grew up on the west side of Indianapolis and attended elementary school at Ernie Pyle School #90.  She continued her education at Northwest High School where she graduated in 1970.  She also attended Evansville University.  Connie worked as an inside salesperson for the majority of her career.  She previously worked for Indianapolis Life Insurance Company, RCI, Construction Digest, and ETS but most recently was employed at ITT Tech.

Connie loved life, loved people and never met a stranger.  Her sense of humor and wit were incomparable.  She loved to laugh and she always kept those around her laughing.  She had a knack for giving the perfect gift but she really excelled at choosing gag gifts for her friends.  Connie was an enthusiastic fan of NFL football and NCAA basketball, as well as QVC and the Home Shopping Network.  She liked to play cards and games, to travel, to plant flowers and to enjoy eating at new restaurants or old favorites with her friends.  She had a deep faith and participated in a weekly Bible study.

Connie is survived by her fur-babies, Murphy Bouvier Fleaka (French Bull Dog) and Andy, her cat.  Her good friends Cassi and Nathan Fuqua have given Murphy a forever home.  Andy’s new dad is Connie’s good friend, Ed Fruits.  Connie is resting in peace knowing her beloved animals are being cared for by people she cared deeply for herself.

She is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, John and Diane Fleaka, nephew Nicholas and niece Melissa.

A memorial service for Connie will be held on Tuesday, April 19 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, 5301 West Sixteenth Street, Speedway, Indiana, where she was a member.  Mass will be celebrated at 11 am with a luncheon to follow at the church.  Private interment services were held at Floral Park Cemetery on April 14, 2016.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher’s Catholic Church Food Pantry or to the Indianapolis Humane Society.
Please post a favorite memory of Connie that we can share at her memorial.  Knowing Connie was a blessing and the music of her laughter will never be forgotten by anyone who knew her.  She is sorely missed by her extended family and friends.
