Glen Delbert Hines, 90, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Traditions of North Willow in Indianapolis, IN.

Glen was born in Callaway, MN, on June 3, 1935, to Wayne and Martha (Holte) Hines. He grew up in Barnesville, MN, where he began working as a farmhand at the age of 13. Shortly thereafter, Glen left school to help support his mother and siblings. In his early years, Glen worked a variety of jobs, including on several farms and for the railroad.

At 18, Glen volunteered and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served during the Korean conflict from 1954-1956 and was honorably discharged in 1956. Glen took great pride in being an American and serving his country as a Marine. After returning home, he trained in the plaster and drywall trade, eventually starting Hines Drywall. Glen was proud of the work he completed in the many homes and businesses around the Fargo-Moorhead area. Glen never needed to advertise as his customers were all word of mouth from former happy customers. Even after retiring in his seventies, he continued to receive requests for his plaster and drywall work.

In 1960, Glen married Patricia Bossman. They were married for 34 years and raised four children together—three sons and a daughter. Glen’s children cherish the memories of time spent together camping, fishing, vacationing, and attending countless music and sporting events. Having left school at a young age, Glen was especially proud that all four of his children completed their college education.

In 1995, Glen married Juanita (Jane) Kragness. Together, they enjoyed country music, dancing, bingo, and traveling. In 2022, Glen and Jane moved to Indianapolis to be closer to Jane’s youngest son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Laura Kragness. Scott and Laura devoted countless hours ensuring Glen was as happy and comfortable as possible during the progression of his dementia.

Glen loved anything related to living in Minnesota. Even during his time in Indianapolis, he continued to talk fondly about Moorhead, the Vikings, fishing, hunting, and trips to Lake of the Woods. He proudly wore his Minnesota Vikings and walleye t-shirts around the assisted living facility. He often reminisced about driving to Detroit Lakes for a pizza at Zorbaz or heading to the Moorhead American Legion to play bingo.

Glen is survived by his wife: Jane Hines, Indianapolis, IN, and his four children: Irvan (Mary) Hines, Blaine, MN, Kevin (Susi Jenni), Corcoran, MN, Paula Jane (PJ) Hines, Moorhead, MN, and Ryan (Kerri) Hines, Plymouth, MN. Glen has eight wonderful grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

When Glen married Jane, his family grew to include three stepchildren and seven step-grandchildren. They were a special part of his and Jane’s life.   Glen was proceeded in death by his parents, Wayne and Martha Hines; and siblings Irvan Hines, DuWayne Hines, Donna Gehrig, and Martha Ellis.

Glen’s family gathered to celebrate his life at Traditions of North Willow in Indianapolis, IN.
