Din Chhoeuy was born on January 1, 1950 in Cambodia, where she lived her early childhood and young adult life before coming to America in the late 1970’s. She was a Cambodian Refugee who served and lived through the Vietnam and Khmer Rouge. The Vietnam War changed her upbringing and made her an extremely strong woman. Din was sponsored by the Doehrman family and was able to come to America. In 1980 she met Arnold Thurman Sr., while working at Crossroads of America. They married and had 3 sons. She loved her family dearly. Din received Christ at an early age. The Church brought her much happiness. She enjoyed going fishing with her family, and trips to Ohio to visit her nephew. Everyone knew Din as a happy, caring and compassionate individual, full of love and laughter.
Din was preceded in death by her first born son, Daytron Thurman and her brother, Soeuth Ke Prim. She leaves to cherish her memory with: husband, Arnold J. Thurman Sr.; sons, Arnold J. Thurman Jr., (Deborah) and Emmanual L. Thurman; grandson, Arnold J. Thurman III; nephew, Rith Doehrman (Annette); great nephews, Rith Chhoeuy and Rhin Doehrman; great niece, Taylor Doehrman; six step-grandchildren; fourteen great step-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and many friends. Din will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral Service will be Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Liberation AME Zion Church, 4906 Crittenden Ave., Indianapolis starting at 1:00pm with a visitation from 11:00 am to time of service. Burial will take place at New Crown Cemetery.
