Gene Boyd Jr. 46 gained his wings December 30, 2020. He was born October 2, 1974 in Indianapolis Indiana, the son on Annie Hartley Boyd and Gene Boyd. Gene was baptized at an early age at Travelers Rest Baptist Church. He attended Homecroft Elementary, Southport middle and Southport High School. In school he played football and always had a love for music including playing the Trombone. He recently worked at Young’s Family Furnishings and took pride into starting his business Jump Start Ent. Gene was a very talented and smart man whom loved his family and friends. Gene would give the shirt off his back to those in need and always made a way to help others. He was also humble, loving, caring, and known as an all-around kind soul and cool dude to be around. He had lots of passion in making music and creating his own sound. He had a record label called F.O.E. If anyone knew him they knew how much he loved all of his children and eating chicken. He will be missed dearly by many people. On Wednesday December 30, 2020 Gene was called home to reunite with his mother Annie Laura Boyd and father Gene Boyd. He is also preceded in Death by sisters Geneva Boyd and Tawanna Boyd, brother Gene Boyd, grandmother Lillie Hartley, grandpa Robert Hartley and uncle Robert Edward Hartley Sr, brother in-law Robert Robinson and uncle Sanders Downer. Gene leaves to cherish many wonderful memories to his loving children Shakell, Brittany, Deandre, Oriana, Asia, Gene “Devonte”, Ta’Drianna, Kavossy, Kyla, Dericka, Imani, Genevion, Promyce, Gernii, Devynn and Gene “EliJah”; siblings Cynthia Boyd Robinson, Gene Boyd III, Diane Boyd, Katherine Boyd, and Dawanna Boyd, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandchildren, family, and friends.
