Connie Lynn Livingston-Taylor was born to the joy of Charles & Melvena Livingston in Milan, IN on July 2, 1951. She entered Heaven’s gates on April 14, 2020. Connie was an honors graduate of Vevay High School in 1969. Her professional career highlights include 20 years as a Blue Cross and Blue Shield employee. A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and homemaker, Connie loved to cook, and bake including wedding & birthday cakes. She truly enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, particularly over the holidays. On March 30, 1984, Connie united in holy matrimony to her soulmate, Gene Lester Taylor, Jr. Together they shared many joys, love and laughter in life. Most important to them was growing in the love of Christ and showing the love of Jesus to others. Upon purchasing their first home in 1992, Connie frequently shared that God had a bigger plan for their home. In the following years, Connie and Gene lovingly and selflessly opened their home and fostered more than 60 children. Before her health declined, Connie’s love for animals was accentuated when she founded the Dane Train, a dog rescue to help get mistreated Great Danes a forever home. Connie was a gentle spirit and loving soul always putting others’ needs before her own. She had compassion for others & was always willing to give of herself. As a child of God, she strived to live her life so that she could hear God say, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Melevna Livingston, her brother Steve Livingston, her daughter Courtney Taylor, and by her loving husband of 34 years, Gene Lester Taylor, Jr. Left to cherish Connie’s legacy are her children: Erik (Angelica), Mi’Kel, Jordan, Victoria, Uriah, Jonathon, Alexis, Jazmin, Rasheed; Grandchildren: Zion, Darian, Asia, Elijah, Adonnes, Josiah, Cody, Aziyah, Callie, Elena, Carlena; Siblings: Patricia Byrd & Tim Livingston; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews, and many friends. Following Gene’s passing, her children: Mi’Kel, Uriah, & Jonathon lovingly cared for her. The family gives them our greatest and warmest gratitude. Due to current restrictions, a small service will be held for the children at Crown Hill Cemetary on Friday, April 24, 2020. A memorial will be announced at a later date for extended family and friends. The family of Connie Lynn Livingston-Taylor wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation all acts of kindness including calls, cards, flowers, condolences, prayers, and other expressions of kindness in our time of sorrow. May God Truly Bless you all. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
