Memories of Donald Lee Gaiter
Donald Lee Gaiter, 76, passed away March 23, 2017. He was born to the late Cora Mae Bell and Hazelwood Gaiter on November 20, 1940. He attended St. Mary’s Grade School in Evanston, Illinois and graduated in 1958 from St. George High School in Chicago, Illinois. After graduation Donald joined the United States Navy. He retired from Indianapolis Housing Authority and went on to work for Lucas Oil Stadium. Donald enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved dancing, hanging and partying with his family. He enjoyed helping others. He was a loving, caring, giving and respectful man, who liked to give advice to the younger ones.
Donald goes on to be with those who preceded him in death, they include his wife, Igena Taylor Gaiter, his parents; Cora Mae Bell and Hazelwood Gaiter, 3 brothers; Robert, Joseph and Roger Gray, nephew; Anthony Charles Barnett, a host of cousins, uncles, and grandparents. Donald leaves to cherish his memory to his seven sisters; Victoria, Marcella, Joan, and Eileen Gray, Eleanor Gray Dennis, Donna Gaiter Ramseur, and Dianne Gaiter Redmond, one brother; Ronald Gaiter, son; Daniel Gaiter, daughters; LaVonnie Gaiter and Lakeshia Williams, grandchildren; William, Igena, August, Eliana, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones, and friends.
You can always hear Donald saying “Keep those beautiful eyes and pretty smile.” One of Donald’s favorite sayings was “Real Eyes Realize Real Lies.”
Donald will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Brother, son, father, uncle, grandfather, cousin, nephew. We love you always.
Memorial Service Friday, March 31, 2017 at Albertsons Mortuary, 1pm-3pm
