April 28, 1922 – September 28, 2012
Eleanor Haas Dorman, 90, went gentle into that good night on Friday, September 28, 2012, after a brief illness. She was born April 28, 1922, the younger daughter of Albert and Ruth Haas of Noblesville, and was a lifelong Noblesville resident. She taught English at Noblesville High School for 25 years and shared her love for literature and good writing to many hundreds of students during her career. She spent her summers in Northern Michigan virtually her entire life, and the cottage was one of the most special places in the world to her. She was a long-time golfer, an avid knitter, a fierce competitor across the bridge table and always completed the daily crossword puzzle in ink.
She is survived by Simon Dorman, her loving husband of 68 years, her fellow world traveler, and steadfast partner and companion. She also leaves behind three sons, Peter and his wife Audrey of Forest, VA and their three children Evan, Zoey, and Tate; Bob and his wife Donna of Indianapolis; Duane of Tuscon, AZ and his two children Sam and Molly and her husband, Zach.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:00 at Lutz’s Steakhouse in Noblesville. Contributions can be made to the First Christian Church of Noblesville or the Noblesville Library.
Arrangments entrusted to Albertson’s Mortuary, Sherman Chapel.
