A Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Albertsons Mortuary, 1775 N Sherman Drive, Indianapolis, 46218, starting at 12:00 pm, and will come to a close at 3:00pm.

Jewell Louise Wallace, affectionately known as “Pookie,” was brought up by her parents, Claude and Jewel Moore, alongside her siblings Kenny, Ernest, Dwight, Jana Lynn, and Gladys in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Born on July 4th, 1952, she embodied the spirit of her birthday as a true firecracker—bold, spirited, and never hesitant to speak her mind.

In her prime, Jewell was a dedicated fashionista who knew how to savor life’s pleasures, such as being the life of the party, and delighted in sharing her culinary talents with loved ones. As time passed, her focus shifted to cherishing her children and grandchildren, a testament to her deep love. She also found joy in her passions for true-crime stories, junk food, and Pepsi. Through every phase of her life, one thing remained constant: her strength in love. Jewell approached life head-on, speaking her truth with conviction, but above all, loving with unmatched intensity.

On Sunday, June 9, 2024, our beloved Jewell returned to her Heavenly Father’s crown. Though if you asked her, she may have said she never felt like a treasure, her family gratefully treasures the pearls of her strength and womanhood she shown all her life and now her family is passing them down through generations.

Jewell leaves behind a legacy defined by the extraordinary women she nurtured, beginning with her “Diamond Daughters”: Theresa Black and Tasha Wesley. They will now be the revered matriarchs of “Grandma’s Jewels,”: Dequashia Joiner, Je’ra Fancher, Kea’rea Wesley, Maya Speed, Ja’mes Bushrod, and Raya Black. a testament to Jewell’s profound influence. Her impact extends further through her stepchildren Sean and Sheila as well as grandsons Desean and Keysean and her cherished Great-Gems: Ah’Marlianna, Marlin, Myrikal, and Dakari. Moreover, Jewell leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom she holds dear.

In the tapestry of our lives, Jewell’s vibrant spirit and unwavering love will forever be woven into the fabric of our memories. Her legacy shines brightly through each member of her family, a testament to her enduring impact and the depth of her affection.
