Patricia Ann Morehous (Greenlee) Willis was taken into the Lord’s love and care on Saturday, September 26th, 2015. Born to Ruth Evelyn (Phillips) and William Ward Morehous in Greenville,Ohio, on March 10, 1947, the family moved from Greenville to Indianapolis in 1949.
Her love of life was preceded only by the love for her family. Pat was the eldest daughter of Bill & Evelyn, mother of Shelley Greenlee, Stacey Greenlee, and Will Greenlee, the grandmother of Bailey Ward Greenlee, and a sister of Barb Morehous (Dan) Hazelwood.
A member of West Morris Street Methodist Church, she possessed a deep personal faith. Pat was a devoted mother and participated in many of her children’s activities, such as scouting, camping, and swimming. A lover of the outdoors, she appreciated flora and fauna, bird watching, all music, musicals, movies, and any activity involving water. She played the piano and played the baritone in the high school marching band.
Although she was employed by Eli Lilly, she left the company to be a full time mother. When her children started school, she went into retail and worked at Lazarus for sixteen years. After leaving Lazarus, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she became involved in healthcare, but returned to Indianapolis to be with her family.
Never knowing a stranger, Pat’s love of life was expressed by her infectious laughter, sense of humor, and engaging personality that brightened everyone’s life. So sparkling was her personality and ability to bring laughter to all who knew her, she will be deeply missed by both friends and family.
The family wishes to express a deep gratitude to Dr. Travis Montgomery, the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Vincent Hospital, and for the staff at St. Vincents Home Health Care for the excellent care and personal attention they gave her. Similarly, the family wishes to express its gratitude for the caring student nurses from Marian University.
