Willie Lee Trotter, 93, of Indianapolis passed away October 9, 2021.
A Funeral Service will be Sunday starting at 2:00 pm with a visitation from 1:00 until time of the service at Albertsons Mortuary, 1775 N. Sherman Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46218.
Willie Trotter was born in Moorehead, Mississippi to Frank Trotter and Classy Schaffer-Trotter. He had 1 half brother, Robert “Bobby” Lee Trotter (who preceded him in death). Following the footsteps of his father, Frank who served in World War I; Willie Trotter enlisted in the Army at the age of 18 and served in World War II. He held many jobs in his long life including chauffeur for Mayor Hatchett of Gary, Indiana but retired from the Steel Mill in Gary, Indiana. Mr. Trotter was married twice in his life. He had 4 children with his first wife, Lillian Trotter, daughters, Barbara Trotter, Cheryl Trotter, and Denise Trotter (Gary, Indiana); son, Robert Lee Trotter, who preceded him in death. He had five children with his second wife, Paula Jo Mayham-Edwards (William K. Edwards, Brownsburg, Indiana) daughters, Angela Mayham (Springfield, Illinois), and Phlona Williams (Brownsburg, Indiana); sons, Floyd Williams and Willis Trotter (Springfield, Illinois), son Wile Trotter (who preceded him in death). Mr. Trotter was a strict but loving father. He was known and adored by everyone for his charisma and wit. He was always the life of any party. He loved music, dancing, playing pool and the ladies. He was also a man of faith who loved the Lord and his family. He has a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cousins. He is loved abundantly and he will be missed dearly by his family, friends and caregivers.
