A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at VFW Post #7119, 6525 Lee Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46236. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Julie’s life, share memories, and honor the love she gave so freely.
Julie was born on September 19, 1973, in Marion County, Indianapolis, Indiana, to Wayne Ray Shepherd and Darlene Kay Shepherd. She spent more than 20 years working as a payroll clerk, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Julie embraced life with enthusiasm and adventure. She had a beautiful singing voice and found joy in music, traveling, and taking spontaneous road trips. Florida and its beautiful beaches held a special place in her heart, offering her peace, happiness, and treasured memories with those she loved.
Above all, Julie’s greatest pride was her family. She was fiercely loyal and deeply devoted to the people she loved, always willing to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or simply be there when she was needed. Her unwavering love and loyalty will forever remain her greatest legacy.
Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene Calvert, and the father of her children, Ronald Smith.
She is lovingly survived by her father, Wayne Ray Shepherd; her sister, Renee Shepherd; her children, Cody Smith, Megan Smith, and Kylee Garrity; her bonus child, Brooklyn Smith; along with many extended family members, friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and generous spirit.

Julie will be remembered for her warm heart, adventurous spirit, beautiful voice, and steadfast devotion to those she loved. Her Legacy of Loyalty will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Though she is gone from our sight, her love and the memories she created will remain with us always.
