Anthony M. Hamiter Sr., age 68 passed away on May 10, 2024, after a brief illness. Anthony was born on January 28,1956 in Portland, Ar. to Willie Hamiter and Shirley Alexander (Bass). His family eventually settled in Chicago, IL which he considered his hometown. Anthony was a member at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1974 where he played on the football team. Anthony’s carpentry career span 30 years. Carpentry was his passion. His hobbies included landscaping, tinkering in the garage, and listening to music. Anthony loved his children and family. He cherished the time he had with his children and grandchildren. Anthony is survived by his wife Stella Hamiter; children, Jacque Martin (Nikki), Anthony M. Hamiter Jr. (Nia), Micael A. Hamiter, Soncerae Hamiter, Sasha Emerson, John Smith, and Michael Byrd, Sisters; Janise (Adrian) Hamiter-Richardson, Onyette Hamiter-Allen, Jacquline Hamiter, and Ingram Hamiter-Taylor, Brothers; Patrick Conaway, Dartez Conaway, Richard (Ricky) Hamiter, and Gary Hamiter, and 8 grandchildren, Special Aunt and Uncle Theo and Jeanetta Hamiter, and a host of aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Hamiter, Birl and Shirley Alexander (Bass), Brother Cornell Alexander. Anthony will be dearly missed.
