Emmanuel Lamont Thurman was born on March 24, 1987, in Indianapolis, IN. He was the youngest child of three, born to Arnold J. Thurman, Sr. and Din Chhoeuy. Emmanuel accepted Christ and was baptized at the young age of 11. Emmanuel received his early education from Indianapolis schools, Allison Elementary and Guion Creek Middle School. At the age of 16, he received his GED from the North Central J. Everett Light Career Center. Emmanuel loved his family. His smile was contagious and lit up the room. Around the age of 15, his brother, Arnold, along with Emmanuel’s friends, gave him the nickname FresH, and it stuck. FresH learned early as a pre-teen, along with his big brother Arnold, some carpentry and building trade skills from their father. As they came into their teens, they worked and learned from their uncles as well. FresH helped his father and Uncle Richard with hanging drywall and carpet cleaning. At age 19, in 2006 he moved to Arizona and lived with his Aunt Jackie, continuing using those skills to make a living. He moved back to Indiana in 2011 when he was taught additional building talents by his Uncle Jerry Allen. Emmanuel started his business, Inspired Renovations Indy LLC and grew his business in Indianapolis, by sharing his great talents with family and friends and earning himself good references. Each job leading to another. He stayed busy doing what he loved. Every stranger he met became family. Where there was a friend in need, Fresh always became a friend indeed. FresH had an interest in art, basketball, and football. He enjoyed fishing and taking trips. FresH loved spending time with family and friends. He was a jokester and liked to lovingly refer to Arnold and close family and friends as,“ya’ dummy”. If you were called that, consider it an honor. Emmanuel was preceded in death by his brother, Daytron Thurman, his mom, Din Chhoeuy, his dad, Arnold J Thurman Sr., his aunt, Catherine Jefferson, and his uncle, Richard Thurman He leaves to cherish in his memory, his sister, Shannon Thompson, his brother, Arnold J Thurman Jr., his sister-in-law, Deborah Hutchings Thurman, his aunts, Beverly and Rose Thurman, his uncles, Rith Doehrman (Annette), Reginald Thurman and Clarence Jefferson. “Uncle” was an important role for FresH and he also leaves behind seven Nieces and Nephews, seventeen great-nieces and nephews, along with a host of relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
