DENNIS LEE PLACKARD, 70, of Anderson, passed away February 23, 2017. He was born July 15, 1946 in Anderson Indiana to the late Donald and Betty Plackard.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dorothy Manis; children, Damon Plackard of Nashville, TN, Daron Plackard (Tami) of Kansas City, MO, Steffani Walston (Dave) of Indianapolis, IN, Dawn Beckner (Doug) of Pendleton, IN, and Jodi Plackard, (unknown)8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; sister, Susan Plackard of Anderson, IN, Brother-in-law, Terry Stephens (Karen) of Anderson, IN, sister-in-law, Janet Cooper (Edward) of Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Ruby McDermott.
Dennis was a graduate of Alexandria High School and GM Technical Degree Program. He was retired from Magnaquench and as a Deputy Appraiser of Madison County Assessor’s office. Dennis was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed camping. One of his greatest loves was spending time with his grandchildren and his family. Funeral Service will be Monday, February 27, at the East 38th Street Free Will Baptist Church, 1125 E. 38th St., Anderson, IN 46013, starting at 12:30 with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Carroll Cullipher will officiate the service .Burial will take place right after the Funeral Service at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson. To the family of Dennis… I am a classmate of Dennis… I presently live in Florida…He was one of the gang who ran together then… He was a great athlete…We also were in BYF together… He was a good friend and always fun to be around…I’m very sorry to hear of his passing… Best wishes to you… Melody Hannah Addison
