Born to Sarah and Willie Wright on March 10, 1942, Emma was raised by her Aunt Leann and Uncle Johnny Love in Drew, Mississippi. Emma was the 2nd of 5 children born to her mother. She was the last surviving child of her mother.
Emma grew up with her sister on her Aunt and Uncle’s farm. She enjoyed life on the farm and going to school. She often had dreams of living in the big city. She met and married Ivory Tillman Sr., giving birth to three sons. She then married Raymond Hardaway giving birth to one daughter. She later met James Lloyd, giving birth to four daughters and one son. She worked for Tuchman Cleaners before going on to model for Bee-Line Fashions. She also owned Mink of Oil Studio, where she sold cosmetics and E & L Construction Company. She made sure that her children learned about the Lord and attended Church regularly while growing up.
Emma was proceeded in death by her parents, siblings and one grandchild. She is survived by 9 children; Arthur Tillman, Willie Tillman Sr. (Louann), and Ivory Tillman (Vickie), Mary Hardaway, Rita Lloyd, Marilyn Lloyd-Hartzell (Timothy), Liza Lloyd-Taylor (Charlton Sr.), Christopher Lloyd(Starla), and Doris Lloyd.
She has 13 Grandchildren; Willie Tillman Jr. (Lisa), LaTantela Tillman (deceased), LaIvory Tillman, Chakee Tillman, Carolyn Hardaway-Tull (Rodney), Terrell McDuffie, Lamia Hardaway, Kamia Hardaway, Devon Boyd, William Phelps, Charlton Taylor II, Charise Sanders and Eric Parks.
She also had 13 Great Grandchildren; Ariel Tillman, Zariah Parker, Hailee Parker, TaQuan Hardaway, Omari Tull, Zion Tull, Royal McDuffie, Shi-Rell McDuffie, Zantrel McDuffie, Jaziah Mason-Hardaway, Kamori Cooper-Hardaway, Carvine Sanders and Sania Sanders.
There are a host of nieces and nephews as well.
The calling for Emma Lloyd will be on Friday, August 2,2013 at 10:00 a.m. The location of the services is The Paradigm Christian Church, 6202 North Carrollton Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46220. The interment will immediately follow the services at Washington Park Cemetery East, 10612 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229
