Funeral Service will be Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Circle City Church, 6405 Castle Place Drive, Indianapolis, starting at 12:00 pm

Visitation will be from 10:00 am -12 noon

Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery with Military Honors.

GREGORY EUGENE WILSON was born December 3, 1953 in Fort Wayne Indiana, to parents whose love showed no boundaries, Joseph G and Helen M Wilson. He was raised in Fort Wayne with siblings Charles (Mauldine) Stewart; Fort Wayne, IN and Patricia (Michael) Jones; Waco, TX. Greg was loved beyond traditional limits and also able to experience the love of his father Robert and his wife Eddie Mae Cooper.  He was united with and loved by siblings Clyde Pierce; Nashville, TN, Arlene McClain ;Nashville, TN, Dan Rodgers; Cleveland, Ohio, Sheila Rodgers; Cleveland, Ohio, Sharon ‘Cookie’ Cooper, Jacqueline  (Eric) Chapman; Bowie MD and Darryl Cooper; Fort Wayne,Indiana.

 Greg was preceded in death by his parents and sister ‘Cookie’. Greg graduated from Central High School in Fort Wayne in 1972.  After graduation he was drafted in the Military, and served in the United States Army, active duty from1972 – 1975.  He continued to serve his country in the Reserves until 1978.In June 1972, Greg was united in Holy Matrimony to Patricia Peoples. They were later divorced in 2000.  Their union was blessed with three children; Gregory M, Terrence L, and Kendra J.  Family was paramount to Greg and he instilled in them the necessity of always taking care of each other.  He encouraged them to aim high and work hard.

In 1975 Greg started his career working for VA Hospitals and Internal Harverster in Fort Wayne, IN until closing of the plant in 1983. In 1984, Greg and his family moved to Indianapolis IN.  He started a new venture as an IT professional at the Naval Avionics Facility.  He was proficient in software programs, trouble shooting and issue resolution.  He later continued his IT career working at Elgin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach FL and again with the VA Hospitals in Indianapolis, IN.  Greg moved to Nashville TN in 2002. Years later he ended his professional career after working for the State of Tennessee in 2010. Greg was comfortable in noting that he ‘chose’ to believe in the power and salvation of Jesus Christ.  In March 1987, Greg accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Park Avenue Church of Christ.  After his baptism, Greg spent intense time studying his Bible and growing in the faith. He worked within men’s ministries, sharing the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  In his later years Greg regularly stated that he’d done it all…. 3x’s as a matter of fact. He took pride in the fact that his journey resulted in him becoming a ‘good man’ and furthermore, he could not complain! His recent passions were attending his grand-children’s events, going to church, attending weekly classes and walking his dog. Gregory Eugene Wilson departed this earthly life on Friday, July 21, 2017.  He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Patricia Renee Wilson.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his children; Gregory (Kristie) Wilson,  Terrence(Joycelyn)Wilson, Kendra (McKinley) Jones and grand-children, LaTeryae, Gregory T, Joseph, Mattelen, Terrence D, David, Solomon, Aaliyah, McKinley ‘Jacob’ and future grandson Geremiah all of Indianapolis IN; siblings, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,and friends.
