Lester Wayne WheelerLester W. Wheeler, 79 of Indianapolis, a retired Laboratory Medical Technologist, died March 10, 2018 at IU Methodist Hospital. His visitation will be March 16, from 4-6p (Visitors need to enter through door 16) with services to follow at 6p at Chapel Rock Christian Church, 2020 N. Girls School Rd., Indpls 46214. He will be buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, East Washington St., Indianapolis.
Lester was born June 5, 1938 in Bloomington, Illinois son of Lester Allen Wheeler and Lula Parthina (Mullins) Wheeler. He married Judith Kay (Roth) Wheeler on June 21,1957 in Bloomington Il., and were married many years until she passed February 7, 2001. He had a second loving wife Theresa (Abellana) Wheeler that he married on March 8, 2005. Lester enjoyed growing plants, painting and family time.
Lester and Judith had 6 children, Michael (Lisa) Wheeler, Kimberly Wheeler Rooney, Karri (Robert) Amory, Kelly (Mike) Barber, Kameria Stewart, and Marc Shayne.
He is survived by his wife Theresa, his 6 children and his 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, and two grandson
Dear Cousins, I am so sorry to read of Uncle Wayne’s passing. I will always be able to hear that hearty laugh he had. My first memory of your Dad is the day he and your Mother were married. Aunt Judy always loved your father and now they are happy together again. We are in Arizona so won’t be able to make it to the funeral, Had we been in Illinois we would have certainly been there. Love to all of you.
So sorry we won’t be able to attend Uncle Wayne’s funeral. If we weren’t in Florida this month, we would be there. So glad we had the opportunity to reconnect with you and Uncle Wayne through the family reunions. I’ll always remember him getting a bug out of my eye when he was watching me. Uncle Wayne will be greatly missed by many.
So sorry we can’t be there to help you celebrate Uncle Wayne’s life. If not for being in Florida, we all would be there. I will always remember Uncle Wayne watching me one day and calmly removing a bug from my eye as I cried. Always my hero. He will be missed by many. So glad we had the reunions to reconnect.
