A memorial visitation will be held from 02:00 PM to 3:30 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, followed by a memorial service from 3:30 to 4:00 (due to construction at Albertsons Mortuary) the memorial visitation and memorial service will be at Wilson St Pierre Funeral Service, 481 W Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46142.
Marcia Sue Otto (Hancock), age 89, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at Franciscan Hospice House. She was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends, and many of her caregivers from Greenwood Village, where she last resided.
Marcia was born on April 4, 1937, in Indianapolis, to David M. Hancock and L. Ruth (West) Hancock. She graduated from Howe High School in 1954 and retired from Indiana Bell after many years of dedicated service.
Her family includes her son, Michael Otto (Cyndi); her daughters, Elizabeth Otto (Mac) and Sally Webb (Jeff), 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. She is survived by Hope Otto, who was a cherished part of her life. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Nail (Rolland) of Neenah, WI and her family as well as her stepdaughters, Jana (Al) Stadlberger and Lisa (Rob) Fowler and the additional 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren that blessed her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved grandson, Wesley Goodin.She will be remembered for the joy she brought to everyday life and for the steady presence she held among those who knew her. Marcia loved being with her family and was especially happy when surrounded by family and friends. Very social by nature, she enjoyed gathering with others and was always stirring up something fun and had a gift for making every occasion feel magical. Holidays were her time to shine with her home beautifully decorated for every occasion and her table lovingly set with linens and fine china. She created traditions and memories that her family will carry in their hearts for generations to come.
Marcia’s greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely to others and her sociable spirit. She made people feel welcomed, celebrated and loved. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Marcia found lasting pleasure in simple and creative pursuits. She loved sewing, shopping, decorating, baking, gardening and crafting. She created beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, leaving behind gifts that will continue to be treasured for years to come.
