I have known Marti for over 50 years. She was 16 when I first came by to see (court) her sister Jenny, now my wife of nearly 50 years. For many years Marti and I both worked for IU Medical Center (and for her its several incarnations as Clarian and back to IU Health.)
She approached life as a ministry and she had several: her family (including extended family) her music, especially sacred music, and nursing, to which she devoted her entire adult life.
She has been a blessing to all who encountered her and we have faith that she now enjoys her heavenly blessings.
We grew up with Marti, and I don’t remember not knowing her; grade school, high school, our parents in PTA together; little ‘tips’s she would give me along the way; saved me from the ‘electric ball’ in QPS class lol. What she learned, she never forgot. Even years later when we grew and went our own ways, walking in work, IU hospital, together, there we were again. Church, choir, gatherings; she was just always a part of who we were. Some friendships never need the constant reminders, they are what they are. Miss you Marti.
I had the honor of working with Marti as a clinical educator. She was an amazing educator and nurse and taught me so much. We missed her when she retired but knew she looked forward to spending time with her cherished family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Marti was a very special lady!
I worked with Marti in Nursing Education several years ago. She had such a compassion for the profession of nursing and for teaching. She caringly mentored many new nurses during her career. She was such a gentle and kind person. It was my pleasure working with you for several years.
I worked with Marti at IU Hospital and I oh so remember her potato soup recipe. Marti was our educator and had a wealth of knowledge & resources like no other. I enjoyed working with Marti and she will greatly be missed. My condolences to family & friends as you find comfort during this difficult time.
My prayers are with the family and friends. Marty was a beautiful women and was a joy to work with. I pray for your comfort and peace at this time of sorry.
Saddened to just hear of Marty’s passing.I would have come to the service to express my sympathy to her family. I worked with Marty for years at IU hospital on 4south. She was a pleasure to work with. I know for sure that she loved her family more than anything. She was always singing their praises.
