Mary Spivey, 66, passed away October 9, 2022.  A funeral service will be Saturday, October 15, 2022, starting at 2:00 pm with a visitation starting at 12:00pm until time of the service at Albertsons Mortuary, 1775 N Sherman Drive, Indianapolis, IN  46218.

Mary Helen Spivey, 66, was born September 6, 1956, to John and Mary Louise Spivey in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She attended Crispus Attucks High School, and later in life completed her GED. In her younger days Mary loved dancing and singing and eventually grew a passion for cooking. To know Mary was to love Mary, everywhere she went, she touched somebody rather it was with her smile, her laughter, or her “tell it like it is” comments.  Throughout Mary’s years she’s showed her children how to waiver any storm, no matter what she went through she had a strength that overcame all obstacles. Mary worked majority of her life as a chef. She spent several years working at “The Deli” where she enjoyed serving her community, while talking crazy to any and everybody, but that never stop the customers from coming, everybody loved Mary and her cooking.   Mary was a big plant lover, she had the ability to make any plant grow. Her home was filled with so many plants that she collected over the years. She also enjoyed collecting knickknacks, she had an eye for fashion, and one of her favorite past times was listening to music by Luther Vandross.  She was organized and kept a clean, neat home, another trait she carried down to her children. Mary enjoyed the simple things in life, such as shopping at the goodwill store with her mother, or just spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her mother, Mary Louise Spivey; children, Tamica Kilbert (Terry), Michelle Dunn (Harry), Thomas Pittman, and Marcus Spivey; brothers, Charles and David Spivey, and James Elliott; sisters, Brenda Spivey, Connie and Bonnie William; grandchildren, Terry, Tavon, Latonya, William, and Lakyah Berry, Joe Snow, Ramir and Tre Dunn.  She was preceded in death by her father, brothers, Jessie and Johnny Ealy and John Spivey, sister, Leatha Newton, nephews, Jermaine Ealy, and Joe Richardson, niece, Robin Richardson.
