Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Calvary Family Church, 6600 E. 42nd Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46226, starting at 11:00am with viewing starting at 10:00am until time of the service.  Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery immediately after the funeral service.

Memories of Sister Rosa Pearl Mcfarland

On Sunday December 20, 2020 Mrs. Rosa Pearl Mcfarland (known as Sister Pearl) a loving mother of two children and grandmother of one., was called home to be with the Lord Jesus at age 78.  Sister Pearl was born in College Grove, Tennessee on August 8, 1942 to Robert Burns and Emma Baker Sawyers Burns and was the oldest of 9 girls, and sister to 2 older brothers.  Sister Pearl graduated from Cameron High School.  She attended some classes at A & I State University in Nashville, TN.   She moved to Indianapolis with her uncle and aunt, where she found a job working at RCA TV Electronics company.  Later in 1963 Sister Pearl married Albert Maurice Mcfarland and 2 children were born to that union, Katrina and Albert Jr..   Sister Pearl loved her family dearly and decided to work for the federal Government U.S. Postal worker.  She enjoyed working and retired in 2009 after 36 years of service.  Sister Pearl had a full live she enjoyed softball, bowling, traveling and family reunions.  She came to Calvary Family Church in the year 2000.  She sincerely gave her heart to Jesus Christ and was baptized in 2002.  She joined the usher board in 2004 and became a devoted church worker.  She typed the weekly bulletins and  was a supporter of the candy table fundraising.  She would clean the church every chance she could.   She was also a teller and a board member.  Sister Pearl served with honor and would always talking about “take her to the King”.  On her bed of Affliction she said “Jesus is just standing there at the foot of the cross waiting on me”.  Sister Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, her parents, siblings, Raymond, Lawrence, Ida, Gracie, Baby burns, Robbie, Ella, and Odessa.  She is survived by her children, Katrina Fay Beach, Albert Maurice McFarland Jr.; grandson, U.S. Army Specialist Dwaine Beach Jr. (Vanity); sisters, Emma Mai Burns, Velma Frazier, Gwen Foreman (Niles); daughter/niece Dashanda Henson (Jason); and a host of friends, neighbors, countless in-laws, nieces, and nephews in Tennessee, Georgia, RCA and Postal co-workers.
