Brownsburg, IN — Michael Lynn Carroll, a proud veteran, accomplished artist, and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 79, following a courageous, decade-long battle with illness. Mike was a man of immense strength, profound wisdom, and unmatched kindness who touched the lives of everyone who knew him. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Mike served his country with honor and distinction, frequently reflecting with great pride on his time stationed in Thailand and Texas. Following his military service, he pursued his deep passion for the arts, earning a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the Herron School of Art at IUPUI. An exceptionally talented artist, he spent a lifetime sketching and drawing, finding joy in capturing the beauty of the world around him. A master of his trade, Mike dedicated 43 years of hard work and craftsmanship as a proud UAW carpenter for Allison Transmission. His strong work ethic, dedication to his union brothers and sisters, and skilled hands left a lasting impact on his workplace and provided a beautiful foundation for his family.
Above all accomplishments, his greatest devotion was to his family. He worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones, always leading with a protective, gentle heart and a quiet resilience that inspired everyone around him. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Delphia, whom he lost at the tender age of five; his father, Vince, who passed away in 2007; his brother, Vince; his first wife, Cathy; and his wife, Veronica. His legacy of love, strength, and humility lives on through his devoted children, Alex (Ashley) and Doug; his cherished granddaughter, Emma; and a host of extended family and friends who loved him dearly. The family extends their deepest, heartfelt gratitude to Gail Shell for her unwavering love, exceptional care, and dedication over the past three years, which truly blessed them with precious extra time together.
