Walker Alexander pic dogAlexander Walker Jr., passed away May 11, 2019.  A Funeral Service will be Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Sanctuary Church, 3400 Post Road, Indianapolis starting at 12:00 noon, with a visitation from 11:00am until time of the service.

Memories of Alexander Walker Jr.

 

Born to the late Rev. Dr. Alexander O. Walker, Sr. and Swendell Walker on April 4,1940 in Linden, NC.  He attended Public school E. E. Smith High School in Fayetteville, NC. He graduated from Johnson Community College with a certificate in Engineering/Management.  After college he enlisted in the U.S. Air-Force completing seven years of active duty.  During the time he was in the Air Force he received a Presidential award from President John F. Kennedy for working on Air-Force One. He moved on to a career with RCA as a Chief Union Steward, where he met his wife Ethel Walker.  Alex worked as a supervisor at American Airlines and move on to Caterpillar where he was an Engineer and worked until he retired at the age of 65. He spent his leisure time working on his land rising fish and livestock. Alex also enjoyed spending time with his wife Ethel who was his pride and joy, also, his Dog, Stinky Poo. He leaves to cherish his memories, daughters and son in laws, Dawn Alexandria Jones, (John), Lenora Edwards, (Ferdinand), Rev. Dr. Andrea L. Walker, Stephanie L. Thomas, (Russell); 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; Siblings, James Walker,(Carol),brother-in-law Odell Blue, Trellis Walker, (Barbara),Thomas Walker, (Glenda),sister-in-law Clotile Stingley. And a host of nieces, nephews and great friends.

Also, his best buddy in the whole wide world Michael Jones.
