Andrews, Richard picRichard Noel Andrews, was a resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, for about 20 years, from 1999 until he passed away in April of this year (2019) of diabetes complications.

Richard was born December 9, 1961, in Oakland, California. He was the son of Alton Marion Andrewsand La Marylas Fay McClellan, and spent his childhood in Lafayette, California.

Both of Richard’s parents predeceased him as also his brother, David Dana Andrews, 1989, and sister, Karen Jean Fessler, who died last year.

Richard is survived by his nephew, John Alton Fessler, of Colorado, and by his aunt, Betty Calkins, of Florida.

Richard graduated high school in Loomis, California, and studied engineering and electronics at San Joaquin Delta College, and at Diablo Valley College, and aviation maintenance at Sacramento City College, graduating in 1995. He also studied at California State University in Sacramento.

Richard worked as an aircraft mechanic for Trans World Airlines and then United Airlines. He was an airframe and powerplant mechanic at Comlux Aviation and as an aircraft mechanic at AAR.

Richard’s favorite quote: “Somebody said that it couldn’t be done, but I, with a chuckle replied, maybe it couldn’t but I’m not the one to say no, until I have tried.”
