It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ronald L. Roberts on April, 11, 2026 in Indianapolis, IN.

Ron was born in Whitley City, Ky. on September 1, 1947, to Hobert and Elva Roberts.  He grew up in Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana.  He attended Indiana Central College (University of Indianapolis), graduating in 1970 with a Business Administration degree.  After meeting and dating at Indiana Central, he married Connie L. (McKimmy) Roberts on June 12, 1971, at Walnut Chapel in Belle Union, IN.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Elva Roberts and his brother Bronnie Roberts.  He is survived by his loving wife Connie, children Roberta Eaton (Ricky), and Tim Roberts (Kathy), beloved grandchildren Mason, Dorothy, Georgia, Chandler, Tommy, Reno, Tarryn, and one great grandson Ike, a niece Beth Roberts, a sister-in-law Karen McKimmy and many cousins and friends.

He worked at Kroger for 20 years starting as a co-manager in Attica & Lebanon, IN.  He was transferred to the district office in Indianapolis working in Personnel and Operation Services.  While at Kroger he managed their United Way and Junior Achievement campaigns.  After a career change, he worked for Arab Pest Control introducing Sentricon to the Midwest while training representatives from other countries.  He then decided to retire to take care of his ailing mother.

Ron leaves behind a long legacy of a faith-filled life.  He attended church all of his life and was a current member at Edgewood UM Church.  While there, he served as Trustee chair, Staff Parish chair, Finance chair, and Lay Leader.  He was involved in Lay Witness programs, was a church camp counselor, and a church youth counselor.  He also served as a Baxter YMCA soccer coach and traveling team’s referee, and an intermural basketball coach.

He was a great story teller, had a generous soul, was an encourager, adaptable, a friend to the friendless, and, genuinely connected with everyone he met.  He loved helping to raise his grandchildren, wood working, and cooking.  Connie and Ron enjoyed traveling to Kentucky, attending folk and country gospel festivals.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at Edgewood UM Church, 1820 E. Epler Ave., Indianapolis, IN on Saturday, April 25, where a time of visitation and gathering will be at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time.
